These Terms explain your rights and responsibilities when you use Ten-Four, including free trials, subscriptions and acceptable use. Ten-Four is a practice tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any police or fire department, civil service commission or testing company.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Ten-Four website, mock oral boards, practice questions, lessons, example answers, feedback, board plans and related tools (together, the "Services"). "Ten-Four," "we," "us" and "our" mean Trueplace Technologies Inc., the company that operates Ten-Four. "You" means the person using the Services.
By using the Services or starting a trial or subscription, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
The plan description, checkout disclosures and any specific offer terms shown when you purchase form part of your agreement. They control for that purchase if they conflict with these general Terms. Nothing here overrides rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow you to waive.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You must give accurate account and billing information and use an email address and payment method you are authorized to use.
You may have only one personal Ten-Four account. It is for your own individual use. Keep your sign-in details confidential, and tell us right away if you think your account or payment method has been compromised. You may not sell, share, lend or transfer your access, or use one subscription to prepare several people.
Ten-Four is a practice tool for the oral boards and interviews used in police, fire and 911 dispatch hiring and promotion. It is not an official board, test, assessment center, background investigation or hiring service. A Ten-Four mock board is not an official rating, and it does not count toward any hiring or promotional process.
Ten-Four is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any police department, sheriff's office, fire department, 911 or emergency communications center, civil service commission, union or testing company. Our questions are not any agency's actual test questions. Agency and rank names are used only to describe which board you are preparing for.
We do not guarantee a passing score, a place on an eligibility list, a job offer, a promotion or any other result. Agencies and their boards make those decisions through their own processes, which can change at any time.
Practice questions, interviewer lines, scores, example answers, plans and feedback, including anything produced by automated or AI tools, are practice aids. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, out of date or not suited to your situation. They are not any agency's actual board questions or rating guides, and a real board may be different.
Scores and progress indicators are practice estimates, not predictions of how a board will rate you. Nothing in the Services is legal advice, police or fire training, or medical or career advice. In scenario answers, follow your training, your agency's policies and the law that applies to you, not an example answer. Check important facts, such as an agency's process, policies or dates, against the agency's own information before relying on them.
Ten-Four is for getting better at telling your real story clearly. On your real board, application or background investigation, your answers must be truthful and complete. Ten-Four will not help you invent experience, certifications, training or other qualifications, or hide anything you are required to disclose.
Example answers show structure and delivery. Replace their details with your own real experience, and never present an example answer as something that happened to you.
Each plan's price, currency, billing interval and what it includes are shown before you check out. Plans are offered in US dollars.
A new subscription starts with a 7-day free trial. You give a payment method at checkout and nothing is charged during the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your first charge is taken when it ends and your plan then renews at the interval you chose.
The free trial is available once per person. Using a new email address, a different card or another name does not make you a new customer. You must not obtain or extend free access by misleading us or getting around eligibility checks, including with scripts or known defects. Where we reasonably find misuse, we may end the affected trial or restrict access. We will never charge you a penalty or turn a trial into a paid subscription without a valid payment authorization.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your subscription renews at the billing interval shown at checkout until you cancel. You authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method for the agreed charges and any applicable taxes.
Keep your billing details current and use only a payment method you are authorized to use. A failed payment may lead to payment retries and paused access. We do not charge undisclosed fees for failed payments.
If we change a recurring price, billing interval or what a paid plan includes, we will give the notice and get any consent the law requires before the change applies. You may cancel before it takes effect.
You can cancel at any time from the billing settings in your account, or by emailing hello@tenfourprep.com from your account's email address. You do not need to give a reason. Cancel before your free trial ends and you pay nothing.
For a paid subscription, cancelling stops future renewals and keeps your access through the period you already paid for, unless the law gives you other rights. Simply stopping practice is not cancellation.
Refund requests are reviewed case by case, and any refund required by law or promised in your offer will be provided. Write to us with your account email and the charge in question, and never send full card numbers. Cancelling does not by itself create a refund for a valid past charge, but this does not limit any refund or cancellation rights the law gives you.
You must not use stolen payment information, falsify payment or refund evidence, or manipulate payment systems to get access you have not paid for.
If you think a charge is wrong, contact us so we can look into it. You keep the right to contact your bank, card issuer or a consumer protection authority directly. A good-faith dispute or chargeback is not, by itself, a breach of these Terms.
Use the Services lawfully and honestly. You must not use them to:
You must not interfere with the security or normal operation of the Services. In particular, you must not:
These restrictions do not cover ordinary assistive technology. If you find a security issue, go no further than needed to recognize it and report it to us without accessing, keeping or disclosing anyone else's data.
Your practice answers are yours. To run your mocks and build your reports, we store your answers, recordings, transcripts, scores and feedback with your account, and you allow us and our service providers to process them for that and to improve Ten-Four, as the Privacy Policy explains. Sharing a practice recording with us never, by itself, lets us use your name or likeness in advertising.
Avoid entering information about other people that your practice does not need, and use made-up details when a story involves a coworker, caller, victim or member of the public who could be identified.
Ten-Four and its licensors keep their rights in the Services, including the software, design, branding, question banks, example answers, rubrics, plans and other content. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use them for your own interview preparation while your access lasts.
You may not copy, publish or resell Ten-Four's questions, example answers, rubrics or plans for use outside the Services, including in other documents, apps or AI tools, except where the law allows it without our permission. Your own answers are yours to keep and copy. Nothing here prevents lawful quotation, fair use or fair dealing.
The Services rely on third parties for hosting, sign-in, live voice and video, speech recognition, AI models and payments, including Stripe for payments. The Privacy Policy lists them. These services may change or be interrupted, and we do not control them. A mention of a third party or a link to one does not imply endorsement.
You are responsible for a compatible device and browser, a suitable internet connection, and any microphone or camera permission needed for the features you choose.
We may investigate conduct that reasonably appears to break these Terms, threaten security or expose the Services or others to fraud or harm. Depending on how serious and repeated it is, we may warn you, end an improperly obtained trial, limit features or end access. We will act in proportion to the issue and, where reasonable and lawful, explain why. We may act right away to address fraud, security threats, a legal requirement or a risk to others.
You may stop using the Services and cancel at any time. If we end paid access for reasons unrelated to a breach by you, we will provide any refund the law requires and treat the unused prepaid period fairly. Ending access for abuse never removes a refund or remedy the law requires.
If you think a restriction is a mistake, email us with the relevant details and we will review it. Provisions that by their nature should continue after termination remain in effect, including ownership rights, valid payment obligations, liability provisions and dispute terms.
We may update features and these Terms to reflect product changes, prevent misuse or meet legal or technical requirements. We will update the date at the top of this page when these Terms change. For material changes affecting existing subscribers, we will give notice appropriate to the change and as the law requires. Changes apply from their effective date, not retroactively.
If you do not agree to a change, you may stop using the Services and cancel. We will not use an update to remove mandatory rights or worsen protected cancellation or refund terms without any agreement the law requires.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Services and their outputs are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that every output will be accurate or complete, that the Services will suit every purpose, or that access will always be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
To the same extent, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. These exclusions do not affect any express commitment in your purchase terms or any statutory guarantee, duty of reasonable care or other protection that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ten-Four and its service providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from use of, or inability to use, the Services, including lost earnings, lost job opportunities or a hiring outcome. This applies only where such a limitation is legally permitted.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited. Your mandatory consumer rights and remedies remain intact.
If you have a complaint, contact us with enough information to identify your subscription, what happened and the resolution you want. We will consider it in good faith. Please do not include full card numbers or other sensitive information you do not need to share.
You may use any court, regulator, consumer complaint procedure or other remedy available under applicable law. These Terms do not require mandatory arbitration, waive class or collective proceedings, prevent truthful reviews, or take away protections available where you live. Contacting us first is encouraged but is not required to use a legal right.
Applicable law determines the governing law and the courts with jurisdiction, including any mandatory protections of the place you live. If a provision conflicts with a mandatory protection, that protection takes priority.
These Terms, the applicable purchase or offer terms and any separately agreed written terms form the agreement for the Services they cover. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and does not reduce your rights under privacy law.
If part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply as far as the law permits. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your subscription or your rights under these Terms without our written permission, except where the law permits it.
We may transfer this agreement as part of a merger, reorganization or sale of the business, as long as your mandatory rights are not reduced and any required notice is given. We may send notices about your subscription to your account's email address.
For questions about these Terms, cancellation, billing, abuse or security reports, or a review of a restriction, contact Ten-Four. Include your account's email address and a short description of the issue.
